Skyline Medical Center Volunteers Donate Over 26,000 Hours of ServiceApril 20, 2010 - 115 Skyline Medical Center volunteers were honored during National Volunteer Week this week with a special luncheon held in their honor on Monday, April 19th. The theme for this years event was Volunteers Plant the Seeds of Kindness. In the first nine months of the hospitals fiscal year, the volunteers have donated 26,746 hours of service. Volunteer service years range from 1 year to 44 years. The Skyline Volunteer Department, lead by Director Julie Davis, have welcomed 21 new volunteers to their team in the last 9 months. In addition, Skyline Medical Center volunteer Carrie Hargrove was honored as being selected as a nominee for the Mary Catherine Strobel Volunteer Award. A luncheon honoring Carrie and others was held recently at the Cool Springs Marriott in Franklin, TN. The award recognizes individuals and groups from Middle Tenneessee who have selflessly given their time and talent to improve the community and its residents overall quality of life.
